What a great chance we have NOW to re-align with that which makes us human – an open conscious heart and mind – awake, filled with compassion and set to supporting others.
The way we live in our world today, which is dictated by super-fast communication, snapshots of life distilled down to thumbnails on social media, and messages that fly at us at warp speed, is, simply put, frenetic.
Because of this dizzying virtual space, more and more, we are finding that people are feeling isolated, lonely and dis-connected. What is missing? Community. That which gives us roots brings us back into our hearts, inspires us and gives us strength for our endeavors.
What is most interesting to observe is that in Africa, India and many other regions around the globe, women have a long-standing tradition of supporting one another by “sitting close,” creating a community that encourages one another in all life circumstances.
The oldest Indian scriptures called the Upanishads mean literally “sitting close”. So many philosophies came into existence by sitting close to each other, talking to each other.
What a stark contrast to the nations ruled by commerce, industry and big business, where workers are expected to fulfill the company edict, produce results and chase currency rather than nurture the heart and seek enrichment from life’s glorious experiences.
Now, it takes incredible courage to break out of this system and away from circumstances that do not support our highest vision of ourselves, that is for sure. But we are here to offer you an opportunity to do just that at our annual HEALING SUMMIT 2020, where you will be able to “sit close,” listen to and meet people who have created a community of humanists and conduct business – all in a personal and heart-felt manner.
We want to introduce to you two of our speakers at the HEALING SUMMIT 2020, both creating powerful communities in India and Senegal.
Dr. Shruti Nada Poddar is a globally recognized vibrational healer, a musician, educationist and mentor, a cultural exponent and teacher of Indian Wisdom and Intangible Heritage, a poet, a heritage conservationist and entrepreneur. Dr. Shruti is pioneer of the “Nada Vibronics”, a wellness ecosystem, which uses Nada Yoga and Indic vibrational technologies to heal and empower people worldwide. In the context of restoring her ancestral town Ramgarh Shekhawati in Rajasthan as a healing and cultural destination, she has created a Rug Making Centre thus creating a community of women and girls which gives them new purpose and income.
Molly Melching has lived and worked in Senegal since 1974 and founded the international NGO, Tostan, in 1991. Tostan, meaning “breakthrough” in the Wolof language of Senegal, implements a holistic, three-year empowering education program that has engaged over 3,000 rural African communities. Molly and Tostan have received international recognition for their groundbreaking work including: The Conrad Hilton Humanitarian Prize, The Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, UNESCO’s King Sejong Literacy Prize, and The Thomas J. Dodd Award for Justice and Human Rights.
The HEALING SUMMIT has evolved to a place that is a warm, organic entity where a strong community has grown and will continue to do so every year. The time we spend together at the Summit is unforgettable because the precious moments that we share serve to open our hearts and minds to a wider understanding.
When people truly open their hearts, everything else flows.
The HEALING SUMMIT 2020 will take place at the magnificent Pine Cliffs Resort location in Portugal.
